    Peach iced tea ingredients

ingredients for peach iced tea on beige background with labels.
    • Green tea – You can choose your favorite variety of green tea for this recipe, Sencha, Jasmine, Black, or another type. Use high-quality tea bags or loose tea leaves for the best flavor.
    • Ripe peaches – Opt for ripe, fragrant peaches for the sweetest flavor. If you can, choose organic peaches and thoroughly wash them.
    • Lemons – Freshly squeezed lemon juice offers the best flavor. You can also zest the lemons before juicing to add extra citrus aroma.
    • Agave syrup - If you want to keep it sugar-free, leave the sweetener out.
    • Water – If possible, use filtered or purified water when brewing the tea. The quality of water can significantly impact the taste of the final beverage.

    Tips & substitutions

    • Tea varieties – Not a fan of green tea? Use other teas such as black, white, or herbal tea. Just keep in mind that the flavor profile will change accordingly.
    • Citrus substitutions – While lemon juice is traditional, you can use other citrus fruits like lime or orange for a unique flavor.
    • Brewing green tea – Don't oversteep the green tea to avoid bitterness. Follow the recommended steeping time on the package. Also, let the water cool down a little before steeping to get the best flavor.
    • Chilling time – Let the tea cool to room temperature before placing it in the refrigerator.
    • Make ahead – You can prepare the peach iced tea a day before and refrigerate it overnight. This allows the flavors to intensify.
    • Avoid food waste – Don’t throw the peaches away after infusing them in the tea. Eat them as a healthy and flavourful snack to avoid food waste and get all the nourishing benefits.

    Expert tip

Elevate the sugar-free peach iced tea with an herbal infusion that enhances the flavor and visual appeal. Fresh herbs like rosemary, basil, or mint make a great addition and garnish.

    • Hummus and pita – Make this Moroccan spiced hummus and serve it alongside these homemade pita chips for a flavorful snack with the peach iced tea.

    Recipe FAQs

How ripe should the peaches be?

Choose peaches that are ripe but not overly soft. They should give slightly when gently squeezed. Ripe peaches will have the best flavor and natural sweetness.

Do I need to peel the peaches?

If the peaches are organic, there is no need to peel them. Wash them thoroughly under cold water before using them.

Can I add alcohol to this peach iced tea?

You can turn this into a peach iced tea cocktail by adding a splash of vodka or rum for a boozy version. Adjust the amount to your preference.
