When it comes to food, there are two things that I always get excited about: Citrus fruits and something spicy! That’s why it was about time to combine these two flavours for a delicious sidekick. The result is a vibrant and spicy mango sauce. So, if you are a mango fan like me (Hello, vitamin C!) and love a hot companion, this spicy mango sauce is for you.
And like with all my recipes, I’m not trying to make a science out of it and include tons of ingredients to make it fancy and complicated. I rather play around with just a few ingredients to create a delicious and easy result everybody can make at home. Did I deliver? Try this easy recipe, and let me know in the comments.

Ingredients
Just a few ingredients are needed to make this mango sauce. Here is what you need:
- Mango – is the main star in this sauce. It comes with a citrusy flavour and lots of vitamin C, making this spicy mango sauce delicious and nourishing.
- Garlic – The kitchen staple in my kitchen adds a savoury touch and depth of flavour to the sauce.
- Curry powder – The yellow curry powder makes this mango sauce special. It captures the fruity mango taste and adds an earthy flavour.
- Chilli – The spicy chilli balances the sweet mango and makes for a spicy and sweet sauce. Use red chillis, jalapenos or other kinds of chillis in this recipe. This is optional, so skip this if you want a mild sauce.
- Apple cider vinegar – Vinegar is added for acidity and helps preserve the sauce for longer.
- Salt – Use salt according to your liking. You can also leave the salt out if you’re mindful of your salt intake when it comes to your meals.

Instructions
This recipe requires just a few easy steps and is ready in 15 minutes:
- Peel and cut the flesh from the mango and discard the pit. Halve the chilli, remove the seeds, and roughly chop. Also, peel the garlic and roughly chop. If you like it very spicy, leave the seeds in. They bring a whole other level of hotness to the sauce.
- Transfer the mango to a food processor or blender and add the chilli, garlic clove, curry powder and salt. Blend until transformed into a creamy sauce.
- Pour the sauce into a non-stick pot and bring to a boil. Cook on medium heat for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove the mango sauce from the heat and stir in the apple cider vinegar.
- Let cool and serve with grilled and roasted meat, fish, or tofu, drizzle in tacos and much more.

I made this with just the salt, garlic, mango and jalapeños...but I used 1 mango and 8 jalapeños *with* the seeds. So delicious!
