- 5 cl gin
- 1,5 cl raspberry or grenadine syrup
- 1,5 cl lime juice
- ½ cl rose water
- 150 ml ginger ale
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
Add gin, raspberry syrup, lime juice, and rose water to the shaker. Shake the mixture vigorously for 10-15 seconds to chill the ingredients and combine the flavors.
Strain the cocktail into a Collins glass or a highball glass filled with ice. Top up the glass with ginger ale, leaving some room for garnish. Gently stir the cocktail with a bar spoon to incorporate the ginger ale.
Garnish your Floradora cocktail with rose leaves and a rose sugar rim or ime wheel. Serve and enjoy!
- Adjusting the sweetness – If you prefer a sweeter cocktail, you can add a bit more raspberry syrup or liqueur. Conversely, if you prefer a drier cocktail, reduce the amount of raspberry syrup.
- Raspberry syrup alternatives – If you prefer a more natural option, you can muddle fresh raspberries and strain the juice to use as a substitute. You can also use Grenadine syrup for a more complex flavor.
- Vary the spirit – While the classic Floradora calls for gin, you can experiment with other liquors to create a different version. For example, substitute vodka for gin to create a vodka-based version.
- Ginger ale substitution – If you prefer a strong ginger flavor and a spicier kick, substitute ginger ale with ginger beer.
