DIY Peach Iced Tea

This DIY peach iced tea perfectly combines the natural sweetness of ripe peaches with the flavors of green tea and the zesty tang of lemons. Quench your thirst with every sip of this delicious and healthy refresher!

Ingredients

  • 4 teaspoon loose green tea (or 4 green tea bags)
  • ½ lemon
  • 2 peaches
  • 1 tablespoon agave syrup
  • 1 l water (4 cups / 34 oz)

  • mint leaves

Instructions

  • Put the loose tea or tea bags in a teapot. Boil the water in an electric water cooker or on the stove. Let it cool down for 1-2 minutes, then pour it over the tea leaves.
  • While the tea is steeping, wash and slice the ripe peaches and juice the lemon.
  • After the tea has steeped, add the sliced peaches and lemon juice to the warm tea. This will allow the peach flavor to infuse into the tea.
  • Let the infused tea cool to room temperature. Once cooled, place it in the refrigerator to chill for at least 1-2 hours.
  • Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled peach iced tea over the ice. Garnish with fresh herbs if you like, and serve.

Notes

  • Tea varieties – Not a fan of green tea? Use other teas such as black, white, or herbal tea. Just keep in mind that the flavor profile will change accordingly.
  • Brewing green tea – Don't oversteep the green tea to avoid bitterness. Follow the recommended steeping time on the package. Also, let the water cool down a little before steeping to get the best flavor.
  • Avoid food waste – Don’t throw the peaches away after infusing them in the tea. Eat them as a healthy and flavourful snack to avoid food waste and get all the nourishing benefits.
