Spicy Mango Jalapeño Dipping Sauce
When it comes to food, there are two things that I always get excited about: Citrus fruits and something spicy! That’s why it was about time to combine these two flavours for an exciting side. The result is a delicious sauce with the right amount of fruity and spicy. So if you are a mango fan (Hello, vitamin C!) and love a hot companion, this is for you.
And like with all my recipes, I’m not trying to make a science out of it and include tons of ingredients to make it fancy and complicated. I rather play around with just a few ingredients to create a delicious and easy result everybody can make at home. Did I deliver? Try this easy recipe, and let me know in the comments.

What goes into this mango sauce?
Just a few ingredients are needed to make this dipping sauce a flavourful sidekick. Here is what you need:
- Mango is the main star in this sauce and comes with a citrusy flavour.
- Garlic is a great ingredient to add a savoury touch to the sauce.
- Curry powder captures the fruity mango taste and adds an earthy flavour to the sauce.
- Jalapeño brings a mild heat and balances out the sweet mango.
- Apple cider vinegar enhances the fruitiness of the sauce but still give it a tangy note.
- Salt enhances the flavour of the other ingredients.

How long will this sauce keep?
If not eaten right away, store the sauce in a sealable bottle or container. It will keep in the fridge for up to one week.
Tips for making this citrusy hot sauce
This Spicy Mango Jalapeño Mango Sauce is what citrus dreams are made of. It is tangy, hot and super easy to prepare. Here are some tips to get the best result:
- Cutting a mango can be a challenge, and I struggle with it too. To make it easier for I researched a little and found this guide very helpful.
- Jalapeño peppers can vary in heat, based on the type and growing conditions. Add less of it first and taste after blending the ingredients and before cooking the sauce. If it is too mild, add more jalapeño. How much you use in the end depends on your taste and chilli tolerance.
- Serve with my easy Crispy Baked Sesame Chicken Tenders, roast and grilled meat, seafood or tofu. Also, drizzle it into your wraps and tacos for a fruity and spicy twist.
