The roadtrip continues and the city we stopped next was Boston. I really fell in love with this city. Not only because it is very diverse but also because it seems like that there is a theme in this city that makes it unique for me. The endless brick walls and pretty doors stole my heart. If I could I would want to move in an apartment with such pretty walls and door and it reminds me of London a lot. Another one of my favourite cities to travel to.
Of course, I had to stop by Harvard University, because I always wanted to see it live. I was a little disappointed though, that it didn’t really feel like a real American university campus because the different buildings are scattered all over the Cambridge area around Harvard square. But it was very impressive still and I just like the different feel an American university has in comparison to an Austrian one.
The area I liked the most in Boston was Beacon Hill. This is were the rich and well settled live. I could walk for hours through these little streets where one building is cuter than the other. If you want to shop till you drop and have the money to do so, then Newbury Street is the way to go. From Vera Wang to Prada, this street has it all. I especially went there because I wanted to visit a cupcake spot with various locations throughout the US I heard about many times before. The shop of Georgetown Cupcake doesn’t only look adorable the cupcakes are right up my alley too. I had to get a red velvet cupcake, because these are my favourite ones and it melted in my mouth. A walk in one of the many parks in Boston is a good idea afterwards to walk away the calories this sinful cakes surely have.
Our next stop is Toronto and I’m excited to cross the border and see what this city has to offer. See you soon with my next travel diary.
