When I had to pick a district in Vienna I most love to stroll through, it would definitely be the first district. Because every time I do, I stumble upon some new gems when walking through all those hidden little streets. A few weeks ago when taking a walk between meetings nearby, I discovered a french little bakery that instantly caught my eye with its chic exterior. You can imagine that it didn’t take me long to step in and check it out.
The smell of freshly baked goods and authentic French interior made me stay and although I have never been to France (Shame on me!), this little place felt like sitting in Paris on a beautiful Saturday morning. At least that is what I’m imagining it would be. What made it even more real was the fact that on my first visit, I was accidentally sitting next to two French women chitchatting in their language which I loved. The open bakery where you can watch French baker Rémi Soulier do his magic is the cherry on top at my new go-to spot.
But let’s get to the important stuff. As a carb lover for life, which makes diets really hard for me, I tried my fair share of baguettes in Austria and all over the world from the US to Bali. A good bread or baguette can make my morning and is one of the first things I turn to when traveling. Naturally, I had to try the delicious looking ones at Parémi and spoiler alert, the taste like heaven. You think I’m exaggerating? I don’t think so because they are definitely one of the best baguettes I have ever tried. Very crusty on the outside and tender on the inside with the right amount of fluffiness. Since then I’m a frequent visitor to get freshly baked goods for my weekend breakfast.
Although I come here mostly for the baguettes, let’s not forget the delicious pastries they offer. From tartes to eclairs, Parémi doesn’t’ hold back either when it comes to french sweets. It’s definitely hard to choose when standing in front of these mouthwatering desserts while blocking out that I want to eat healthier. But a treat here and there is what makes life that much more enjoyable, right? Definitely, visit this cute French bakery and treat yourself.
