Because I’m working full-time and running a blog on the side, weekends are essential for me to not only get things done that I don’t have much time for during the week but also to recharge my batteries. Especially Sundays are my holy grail, where I rarely make plans but rather stay home and spend the day with things that inspire me, things that pamper my skin and things that give me the power to conquer the next week. This involves 5 essential steps that I always follow to have the ideal Sunday before a new week rolls in.
1.) Breakfast Love
Probably my favourite meal of the day is breakfast when I really have the time to enjoy it. While I love to indulge in a delicious and lengthy brunch at one of my favourite spots on Saturdays, I love to take the time and prepare a delicious meal at home on Sundays. And because I’m a sucker for a good breakfast, I not only eat it after I wake up (usually yogurt, berries and granola or a smoothie) but also go for another round at lunch with my go-to omelette. A tradition I follow for over a decade now.
2.) Inspiring Content
While I enjoy a cup of tea, I love to start my mornings by catching up on magazines and read articles online that really inspire me and add to my passion of blogging. Probably my favourite thing to do on a Sunday is to just get lost in inspiring content to feel motivated and energized to be productive.
3.) Passion Pit
Working on my blog is a passion I carry for a few years now. Although I ‘m also working on it during the week, I love to really have the time on the weekends to create new content without stressing about the time. Whatever your passion may be live it up on the weekend. It gives me so much energy and inspiration for my life that I wouldn’t want to miss it anymore.
4.) Pampering Time
Since I’m a big advocate of taking good care of your skin, I really take the time on a Sunday to pamper myself. For that matter I always put on a face mask that deals with whatever skin problem I face. My favourites are the Origins Clear Improvement Mask to clear my skin and the Origins Skin Retexturizing Mask, which fights dullness, especially in fall and winter. My newest discovery is the Lush Sleepy Body Lotion. It has a heavenly smell, calms you down before bedtime and nourishes the skin deeply.
Last but not least, I try to really relax on a Sunday to be prepared for a hectic new week. This usually involves lots of tea, a little zapping through the TV programs and going to bed early to wake up fresh and well rested on a Monday morning.
What is your perfect Sunday? Let me know in the comments.
