Over-styling and other hair treatments like dying your hair or relaxing like I do stresses your hair and scalp. Due to relaxing my hair for over 10 years now, I’m always having trouble keeping it healthy because the relaxer is aggressive. But with a lot of research over the years and trying countless products I developed a routine that works for my hair and keeps it as healthy as possible. Last week I was invited by O’right natural hair care to do a hair detox at the lovely G-Room hair salon. Yup, a hair detox exists and it should help your scalp and hair to recover from all that styling. At first I was sceptical because my hair is very complicated and it took me years of trial and error to find products that work for me. But as I’m more conscious now of what ingredients go into my beauty products, I was curious to see if some natural products will work on my hair too, so I gladly followed the invitation. First my scalp was scanned with a micro camera to see what we have to work on. Then a special combination of products was selected to get my scalp back to the natural state it should be in. The hair detox was such a relaxing and refreshing experience that I don’t wanted to leave the wash place I was sitting in. After checking my scalp again with the camera there were some major differences. My scalp looked really clean and healthy and the pores weren’t as clogged as before. When using styling products like hairspray or hair oils the pores on your scalp get clogged overtime and as a result new hair cannot grow as healthy as it should. I was pretty surprised at how good my hair looked after only treating it with natural hair products. Of course you can’t say after one treatment how the results will be in the long run, but I’ll definitely incorporate some O’right products into my hair care routine and see what happens.
