DIY Face Scrub

Caring for my skin is important to me since I can remember. Treating your skin badly can have serious consequences when getting older. So I always try to watch my skin to really find out what it needs right now and how I can maintain it soft and healthy. I love pampering myself and the weekend is the perfect time to do so for me. Usually on a Saturday or Sunday when I have the time I’m doing a full body and face scrub, lay on a mask and let it do its job. I’m also switching up my skin care routine when the seasons change because the skin needs different nourishment when the temperatures change.

Last weekend when I was just about to start my pampering routine I run out of face scrub. With all the shops already closed I had to think of an alternative to get the scrubbing process going. After a little research about the best natural ingredients for the skin and a look in my pantry I started to experiment in the kitchen to mix up my own scrub. Surprisingly the result was so good that I had to share it with you on the blog today. I really felt that the scrub was doing its job and made my skin super soft. I didn’t even need a moisturizer afterwards. As much as I love store bought scrubs and have my favourite brands, this is a really good alternative if you want to save money or just run out of your usual scrub like me. Scroll down for the awesome and quick recipe and start scrubbing.

DIY Skin Brightening Scrub

What you need:

90g / 1/4 cup brown sugar

1 tbsp raw honey

1 tbsp milk

1 tbsp olive oil

Measure the ingredients and mix everything together in a bowl. Scrub your face with it for a few seconds with circular movements and let it sit for a little to really get out the benefit of all these great natural ingredients. Rinse off with lukewarm water.

Tip: I recommend doing the scrub (even if you only do the face) in the shower because it can get a little messy putting it on and washing it off.
