After reading about its positive effects on the body, I started cooking with it, until I discovered the ultimate combination to bring my turmeric intake onto the next level. Served as a blend with other well-known superfoods, it is probably the best health booster you can mix up yourself, while it’s oh so delicious and comforting, especially in the colder season. Made in only a few minutes this wonder drink is said to be anti-inflammatory, promotes digestion, detoxifies the liver, regulates your metabolism, amps up brain function and even has anti-cancer properties. What you need:
1 cup / 250ml milk (of choice)
1 tsp ground turmeric
1 tsp coconut oil
½ tsp cinnamon
½ tsp raw honey or agave nectar
little piece of ginger (grated)
pinch of black pepper
(Adding black pepper to this mixture may sound weird but it is crucial. The hot pepper helps the body to absorb the turmeric much better, maximizing the health benefits.)
First, put everything into a high speed blender and blend until smooth. Then, pour the mixture into a saucepan and bring to a boil. Simmer on low heat for about a minute and pour into a tumbler. Sprinkle with some cinnamon and enjoy the health benefits of this amazing drink.
