New Year, New Mood!

Did I already say I’m glad that 2017 is over? I bet I did a 100 times because this past year truly wasn’t a happy one for me and the world as a whole I feel. That’s why it took me a couple of days to realize that the year is finally in the past and a new chance for a better one is here. Like always at the beginning of a year, I made some New Years resolutions but this time on a different note. I really wanted to turn them into affirmations that I want to practice, besides the usual resolutions I would go for.

And there is a specific reason for that. A lot of bad things that happened in the last year and my reaction to them were not only hurting myself a lot but made me suffer more than I needed to. Especially because of my mindset shaped by past experiences. That’s why after a year of realizing a lot of stuff (Yes, I quoted Kylie Jenner here), I decided that my mind needed to change to live a happier and more fulfilled life. Raise your hand if you’re with me on that one. So these are my affirmations, that I want to accept and practice in the new year to reach that goal.

10 Affirmations For The New Year and beyond:

  1. Never be sorry for how you feel.
  2. Speak up when it is important to you, even when you are afraid to do so.
  3. Find your happiness, regardless.
  4. Let things go that hurt you.
  5. Be yourself fearlessly.
  6. Live your passion.
  7. Do more things that scare you.
  8. Meditate to stay grounded and focused in a crazy world.
  9. Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it.
  10. Free yourself from negative people and negative thoughts.

On that note, I like to recommend a book that helped me understand a lot of hard situations I found myself in and really had a positive effect on my mindset already. Although I’m normally not a very spiritual person, the book “The 4 Agreements” by Don Miguel Ruiz really opened my eyes to a lot of things and changed the way I thought about them. Inspired by this great lecture and the affirmations I set for the new year, I’m looking forward to a happy 2018 with lots of happy moments and positive thoughts.
